Taylor

Taylor Swift was a rarity in pop culture: she was the only superstar to have moved from the country to mainstream and become an international icon of pop culture. Swift removed the influences of country in the sense that they had been added as an extra layer of skin. She revealed that she was one of the finest singers/songwriters from the generation she was born into. Swift could make the moment personal or harness the moment to benefit. Her early songs like the Neotribute for Tim McGraw were a testament to her talent. However, her second album Fearless of 2008 proved to be a songwriter finding her voice, and also a larger public. Fearless wound up having considerable legs not only in the U.S. where it racked seven platinum singles due to the Top Ten hits Love Story and You Belong with Me but throughout the globe, performing especially well within the U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift's next album Speak Now, released just two years after the previous one, built on the success of this album. It propelled Swift to superstardom. With the three albums that followed (Reputation 2017, 1989 2014, and Red 2012) Red 2012 1989 2014, as well as Reputation 2017, her popularity only increased. This was a sure indicator that Swift had entered the new music scene where she fit in. While she reduced her production with folklore, and Evermore releases in 2020 she was still in the forefront of pop music.
