Kelly Clarkson was an American singer/songwriter that became the American sweetheart after she was crowned American Idol in the first season. It brought her to fame and earned her an agreement with RCA Records 19 Recordings, as well as 'S Records. From her first appearance in the series, she has released a number of albums. Three of those albums were ranked first on the US Billboard 200. The other albums were also near the top. She was among America's top performers. In order to achieve success she experimented with different musical styles, and explored subjects. The uniqueness of her voice and singing talent earned her praise from critics, as well as several important awards. Her most notable achievement was that she received three Grammy Awards. Aside from her career in music, she's also appeared on television and film. She also wrote the children's book River Rose and the Magical Lullaby as well as been associated with a number of charities.
