Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived with twelve other kids. Her imaginative mind allowed her to escape the pressures of daily life. Songs were written by her before she was able to write or read. Her first guitar was given to her when she turned eighteen. She began singing in the Knoxville Tenn station by the age of eleven. The first album she recorded was in the same calendar year on Gold Band Records, a small independent label. She made a name on the local circuit while at high school, but dreamed of a bigger stage. When she graduated from high school in 1964 she moved straight to Nashville. The first charting record she had for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. The syndicated television show of Porter Wagoner required a new singer at around the time. Parton took the offer and in the year 1967, she signed to RCA Records in 1968 and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. The show was cancelled by Wagoner, but in 1974, because her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. Parton composed "I will Always Be Loving You" for Wagoner soon after their split. It reached the top spot at No. The first time it reached No. 1 was 1974.
