He was also director of the series and was awarded an Emmy nomination for his part. Selleck also plays the police commissioner who is part of a multigenerational clan of officers in the drama Blue Bloods which premiered on CBS in 2010.Selleck was eventually able get his chance to appear on the big screen once more. He was also part of the highly-acclaimed comedy Three Men and a Baby with Ted Danson and Steve Guttenberg. The comedy became the highest-grossing film.
