Selena Marie Gomez, /s@'li?n@ /goUmez/s@LEEn@ GOHmez was born July 22, 1992. She is an American performer, actress and producer. Gomez started her acting career with the children's show Barney & Friends (2002-2004). As a teenager, Gomez became famous for her character Alex Russo in the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (1907-2012). Gomez was also a part of the TV series Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie 2009, Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers 2012, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016). In 2019, she'll appear in The Dead Don't Die (2018). Gomez was also the voice of Mavis in Hotel Transylvania's film franchise from 2012 until 2022. Gomez was the executive producer of Netflix's 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020), and Living Undocumented (2018) through July Moon Productions. Gomez also executive produces and also stars in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + chef (2020-2022) and the Hulu comedy show Only Murders in the Building (21-21). Gomez received praise from critics about the show as well as nominations for the Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer. Gomez was a member of Selena Gomez & the Scene and released three albums. The three albums all made it to the top ten on the US Billboard 200. They were all certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Stars Dance (2013) was her debut album as a solo artist. In 2021, she released the EP in Spanish Revelacion, for which she was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. She has been honored with numerous awards and was named Billboard's Women of the Year in 2017 and also broke fifteen Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people around the globe in 2020. She has a huge following on social media and is the most followed musician and actress on Instagram. Gomez has launched fragrance, cosmetics, and handbag lines. She has been involved with a variety of charitable organizations , and was an UNICEF ambassador since the age of 17.
